Living in Orlando

The neighborhood, honestly

Orlando is far more than the theme parks. The core neighborhoods around the downtown lakes, College Park, Delaney Park, and Thornton Park, are canopy streets of bungalows and lakefront homes, and Lake Nona to the southeast is one of the largest planned communities in the country.

Winter Park and Baldwin Park set the top of the market with brick streets and lake views. The downtown lake district offers 1920s homes on Lake Eola, Lake Cherokee, and Lake Davis, while Dr. Phillips and Windermere to the southwest bring golf and gated communities. Prices vary widely by neighborhood, which is where a local agent earns their keep.

  • Lakefront and canopy-street homes in the downtown lake district
  • College Park, Thornton Park, and Baldwin Park
  • Lake Nona and Medical City new construction
  • Two major airports and the state's largest job market
